It is fair to say that Buckingham is the ‘grand daddy’ of finescale model railway layouts. Peter Denny, its creator, began work in 1947, basing it on the Great Central Railway prior to Work War 1.
Built in EM gauge, almost entirely from scratch, the layout evolved over the next 60+ years until Peter’s death in 2010.
In this video tour Tony Gee, current custodian of the layout, takes us behind the scenes with a fascinating look at the control systems.
